NEW HOPE ACADEMY

Believing that education is the springboard for innovation, the Asomugha Foundation has continued since 2005 to foster hope, knowledge and understanding to women and children especially, widows, orphans, and young adults.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic (2020-2022), the world was locked down and life sort of stood still but there was another problem; Children in rural areas would roam around the villages unable to go to school because their parents or relatives could not pay their school fees.

Prior to this, despite the fact that parents could not afford their children’s school fees, potential students regularly put themselves in danger due to the lack of safe roads and walkways for children to travel (cross the express road) to school. Many lives were lost.

In January 2022, the Asomugha Foundation embarked on a new venture and opened a non-profit elementary school, New Hope Academy, to serve four villages in Ubakala, Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria that were severely affect.

Under the umbrella of the Asomugha Foundation, in January 2022, New Hope Academy, started with 125 children enrolled in grades ranging from Nursery (pre-K) to Elementary Six (6th Grade), 14 certified teachers and 8 administrative employees. Today, we have 200 pupils, and many more children are coming for admission into this school.
